Mr. AUN, Bakia Ayuktabe, and Miss AUN, Vivian Amah, on Saturday, February 13, launched a fundraising scheme to help put less-privileged children in Yola, Adamawa State, in school.
The scheme is a raffle in which participants can win up to N100,000.00 when they buy a N500.00 ticket.
According to them, funds raised through the scheme would be used to launch a social development initiative called ‘Put A Child In School’, PACIS, which is aimed at sponsoring select less-privileged children through secondary education in and around Yola.
In an e-mail they sent to students, Ayuktabe and Amah also said that the scheme would encourage students to take active part in the University’s community development efforts.
“It is a very good initiative that will encourage fellow students to give back to the community.”
They added that they expect to raise about N500,000.00 through the raffle, which will then be deposited in a bank account that the University will monitor closely.
The winners of the raffle will be announced on March 19, 2016 at an all-white dinner and awards night to be organized by the Campus Activities Board, CAB.
