Mushish FC remains unbeaten after Week 5 of the AUN Premier League, APL. The team have garnered 15 points in 5 games to become clear favourites to win the league trophy this season.
Another confident display from the leaders saw them defeat last season’s champions LXB FC 3-2 in the hotly contested tie of the round.
Box-to-box and energetic midfielder, Yusuf Olabisi, helped his team’s cause with a brace to cap an outstanding midfield display and firmly put his team in a comfortable position in the title race.

Speaking to the CMD Website at the end of the match, assistant captain of Mushish FC, Chibunze Uzo, said he was excited that his team won but called for the investigation of the match referee for alleged partiality.Abubakar Abdulmumin scored the winner after 75 minutes; his master class chip to the back post from six yards was enough to beat LXB’s veteran goalkeeper, Basil Abia.
“Although I am pleased with the win, I would want the referee to be investigated for partiality.
“I still cannot believe he gave them [LXB] two penalties,” he added.
Meanwhile, on Friday, Java FC, with the help of their on-and-off interim coach, Mr. Elijah Minso, defeated African Warriors FC 3-0 to record their first points, and first win, of the season.
