Students of the American University of Nigeria, (AUN), Yola, Adamawa state on Thursday, showcased talents in an event tagged, “Aproko Musical Theater.”
The event was the first musical and drama fiesta to be organised by the Student Government Association, SGA, of the university.
At the colourful night, students showcased talents through music, drama, and dance.
The drama highlighted the dynamics of the university community and featured a girl who dated her professor; a boy who blackmailed others and a girl who stole from her best friend.
The presentation called for strict adherence to the university’s rules, making smart decisions and exhibiting the best in character and learning with a view to avoiding the unpleasant consequences of being found on the other side of the rules.
Three students in the play, who were caught on the wrong side of the rules, got expelled, thus sending a strong message to the audience, which consisted of students, faculty and staff.
To pep up the show, the organizers interspaced the drama with musical presentations and scintillating dances.
“What I know and always appreciate about AUN is that we have some incredibly talented students who are creative and resilient when it comes to making adjustments for the good of others,” Mr. Bullock said. The Dean of Students’ Affairs, Byron Bullock, showered praises on the students who were part of the performances.
