President, Mohammadu Buhari, Friday, applauded the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, for doing an incredible job while he was away.
Mr. Buhari made his feelings known shortly after he returned to the country from the United Kingdom, after a prolonged medical leave.
He was received by the acting president and political leaders in the Presidential Vila, Abuja.
Addressing top government officials, aides and political leaders, the president said age and experience were on Mr. Osinbajo’s side and urged him to work hard to revive critical sectors of the nation’s economy.
“Youth and intellect are squarely behind you. Continue to do the work. Nigeria will continue whether we are here or not,” Mr. Buhari told the vice president.
Responding, Mr. Osinbajo said he acknowledged the challenges faced by the country and expressed appreciation to the president for trusting him.
“I must say it has been an interesting period going around the nation in borrowed robes.
“I had a very interesting and challenging time, but above all, the president gave us good support,” said Osinbajo.
A statement from the State House said Mr. Buhari will officially write to the National Assembly of his return to the country.
